Shoes for Kids in
Need
Local State Farm Insurance agent, Mark
Mathews, started the Lighthouse Stations, inc. which is a non-profit
organization that helps orphaned and underprivileged children and
families in ChicChicastenango, Guatemala.

During the month of April, Mr. Mathews & Post Addison Circle
Apartment Community will be holding a shoe drive for the children of
ChiChi.
If you are interested in helping these children, please bring a pair
of shoes to the leasing office at Post or to Mr. Mathews State Farm
office located in the circle. They would mostly prefer new tennis
shoes but would be appreciative of good used shoes as well, anything
helps. The need for infant, toddler and middle age children's shoes
are the most desired. Mark will be transporting the shoes to ChiChi
in May. These children will be so thankful to have a new pair of
shoes.
Please
bring shoes into the following locations anytime April 1-30:

Addison Circle Parks
In January several members of the Addison Circle community
met with Slade Strickland, Director of Parks and Recreation
and Robin Jones, Street Superintendant. The focus of the
meeting was the condition of the Addison Circle parks
including the pet waste issue. Several items resulted from
the meeting:
- Esplanade Park is scheduled to have new landscaping.
- The lighting in Parkview Park (District A) will be fixed.
- The lights in Esplanade Park will stay on longer.
- More dog waste bag dispensers and trash cans will be
placed in Esplanade Park and Parkview Park.
- The Addison Animal Control officer will step up patrols of
the parks for violators of the pet waste and leash laws.
Please be considerate of your fellow residents in the
Circle: pick up after your pets and keep them on a leash.
