ACNA Working For Addison Circle Retail
The January
ACNA General Meeting focused on Addison Circle retail. In
attendance were two Addison City Council members, Post
Properties Commercial, Post Properties Residential, two
Addison Circle business owners and several residents. The
meeting was effective to open the communication lines
between all parties. Some key items from the meeting
include:
·
Post Properties Commercial is working on leasing several locations around
the Circle. Since the meeting it has been confirmed an
English pub will be taking the Avanti spot. As more
information regarding the new restaurant is available it
will be posted on
www.addisoncircle.org.
·
Post Properties has hired a new company to manage the parking in their
garages. This will hopefully assist in dealing with past
parking complaints.
·
It was agreed Addison Circle is a destination place. However, the
residents are the base to keep the businesses going.
·
Town of Addison has new signage which will be put at Beltline & Quorum,
Keller Springs & Quorum, Addison Circle Drive & Dallas
Parkway, and Arapaho & Dallas Parkway to direct people in to
the neighborhood. Additional signage will also be installed
in the neighborhood.
·
Town of Addison has a new Economic Development committee made up of
several City Council members. They are currently contracting
a consulting firm to determine how best to position Addison
and to hire an Economic Development staff person.
·
The Town of Addison Charter is being reviewed this year. Alcohol package
sales in Addison are only allowed on Addison Road because it
is written in the Addison Charter. This item is likely to
come up for review. If it is determined to put package
alcohol sales on the ballot it will be in the November
election.

Since the
January General Meeting ACNA Board Members have met with
additional City Council members, Post Properties and Circle
business owners. We are working to keep communication
positive and productive as a means to keep the Addison
Circle retail moving forward.
Please do
everything you can for our neighborhood businesses and
frequent them as much as possible. Several of them have
happy hours and specials every day. Look to their web sites
or Facebook pages for the latest deals.
